This Privacy Policy explains what information Mealvisor AI collects, how that information is used, and how you can manage your data.

Information We Collect

Mealvisor AI collects the following information that you provide during onboarding and app usage:

• Dietary preferences and restrictions (e.g., keto, vegan, gluten-free)
• Ingredients you want to avoid (allergies and dislikes)
• Health and nutrition goals (e.g., lose weight, gain muscle)
• Cooking skill level and meal prep time preferences
• Daily calorie and macronutrient targets
• Meal tracking and daily food log entries
• Messages sent to the AI nutritionist chat

How Your Data Is Stored

Your personal data is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. We do not maintain user accounts or a database containing your personal information. When you use AI-powered features, relevant information is securely transmitted to our backend and to OpenAI only for the purpose of generating meal plans, grocery lists, meal details, meal swaps, weekly check-in responses, and chat responses.

Third-Party Services

Mealvisor AI uses OpenAI's API as a third-party AI service provider to generate personalized meal plans, grocery-related responses, meal details, meal swaps, weekly check-in responses, and AI chat responses.

When you use AI-powered features, relevant profile information, meal preferences, dietary goals, allergies and dislikes, meal prompts, meal-plan context, grocery/fridge/restaurant inputs, weekly check-in feedback, and chat messages may be sent to Mealvisor AI's backend and to OpenAI to produce a response and improve the app experience. This data is transmitted securely over HTTPS.

OpenAI's use of this data is governed by their own privacy policy and data usage policies. We encourage you to review OpenAI's privacy policy at openai.com/privacy.

We do not sell your personal data. We use trusted service providers only when needed to operate Mealvisor AI, such as generating AI responses, hosting the app's backend, and processing App Store subscriptions.

Subscription and Payment Data

Subscription purchases are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not collect, process, or store any payment information such as credit card numbers or billing addresses. All payment processing is managed by Apple in accordance with their privacy practices.

Analytics and Tracking

Mealvisor AI does not use any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. We do not track your behavior, location, or device information for advertising purposes.

Data Retention and Deletion

Since personal app data is stored locally on your device, you have control over it. Deleting the app from your device will remove locally stored data including your dietary profile, meal plans, grocery lists, tracking history, and chat messages. We do not maintain user accounts or a database containing your personal information.

Children's Privacy

Mealvisor AI is a general meal planning and nutrition organization app. It is not specifically directed to children under 13. Children should use the app only with guidance from a parent or guardian.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
